Makos 2026 Practice Schedule
Practice starts on Monday, May 11th. When school is in session, practice is Monday-Friday in the afternoons. When school is out of the summer, practice is Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. There is no practice on swim meet days. See the schedule below:
School in Session (May 11 - June 6)
3:45-4:15pm: 6 and under
4:15-5:00pm: 7-10 years old
5:00-6:00pm: 11 and up
School out for the Summer (June 8 - June 19)
9:30-10:00 am: 6 and under
10:00-10:45 am: 7-10 years old
10:45-11:45 am: 11 and up
All Star Meet Practice Times (June 22 - June 26)
9:30-10:00 am: 6 and under
10:00-10:45 am: 7-10 years old
10:45-11:45 am: 11 and up
*Only swimmers participating in All Star Meet (may be a majority of the team)
During the beginning of the seasons, swimmers will be evaluated based on their ability and they may be asked to move to a diff erent practice group which will be better suited for their growth and success.
We understand that our swimmers are involved in other camps and activities and summer vacations are planned, which may cause a conflict with swim team practices. Just keep in mind, practice is important, it helps the swimmer improve their stroke technique, endurance and speed.
Safety is our priority! All Shrimper parents (parents of swimmers 6 and under) are required to be present at all practices, events and meets. It is also strongly encouraged for parents of swimmers of all ages to be present at practices, events and meets as well.
These times may be subject to change.
No swim team practice on swim meet days.
The Main Pool (including the shallow wading area) will be closed to the community during all swim team practices. Makos swimmers will only be allow in the main pool when it is their specific practice time and they are instructed to do so by the coaches. All other pools (Feature Pool and Lazy River) will be open to the community and the community rules must be followed. No swimmers under the age, as specified in the rules, will be able to swim in the other pools without a parent or guardian present and supervising.
