General Information
WHAT TO BRING
- team suit
- goggles (plus a spare pair)
- Makos swim cap
- heat sheet printed from home (when applicable)
- team shirt
- dry clothing (including sweatshirt)
- towels
- chairs
- black sharpie marker
PLAN TO ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 15 minutes before warm ups! We will warm-up, there will be an officials meeting (for anyone judging, timing, scoring, starting). Swimmers should wear their team suit to the meet, have their goggles properly fitted and wear a team cap. When you arrive, help your children get their event/heat/lane info written on their arm and their last name written on their upper right arm with a sharpie marker, then over to their appropriate age group marked spot. Not sure where that is? Just bring your swimmer to the coaches.
How to Mark a Swimmer
PLEASE DO NOT PUT SUNSCREEN ON SWIMMERS BEFORE THEY ARRIVE. The marker won't write on top of sunscreen.
How to mark your swimmer's arm, leg, shoulder...
The swimmers last name should be written on the upper right arm so it is visible to coaches and Clerk of Course.
The swimmers events should be written in a table form on their lower arm or leg, visible to the swimmer.
Example 1: A swimmer in EVENT (E) = 15, HEAT (H) = 2nd, LANE (L) = 5 swimming backstroke and EVENT = 23, HEAT = 3rd, lane = 6 swimming freestyle... it should look like this:
E H L
15 2 5 BK
23 3 6 FR

Weather Note
Practice and swim meets take place in the rain. However, any sound of thunder or instance of lightning clears the pool until at least 30 minutes have passed without a recurrence. The safety of all swimmers is of the greatest importance. Decisions to close the pool are made by the lifeguards; please follow their instructions. If there is stormy weather in the area we will be monitoring it closely and send notice if practice is canceled. Please download the Swimtopia app and allow for push notification in order to be notified via text message and cancelations or changes to practices or meets.
